  • The University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) has inaugurated a new Master of Nursing (MN) Leadership program specifically designed at the request of Qatari nurses.

This week he came down with a stomach flu, and a couple of days ago stopped taking the insulin. Now he is confused and upset and needs medical care. A team of 72 nursing and pharmacy students go to work on assessing him and prescribing treatment

  • The University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) brought together a number of their community partners as they offered potential students an opportunity to learn more about the nursing program and the potential job opportunities available for its graduates.

  • Under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Hend Bent Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Vice Chair of the Supreme Education Council board of directors, the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) graduated 44 new nursing professionals in the university’s fifth convocation. One quarter of these UCQ graduates are Qatari nationals.

  • The communication exchange between the nurse and patient is critical to patient care. Recently, the Clinical Simulation Centre, Nursing Foundations Program, and the Centre for Teaching and Learning collaborated on a pilot workshop intended to enhance and improve the skills of nurse – patient communications through training Standardized Patients (SP) to provide appropriate feedback to student nurses.
