Nursing Foundation

Nursing is a science-based field of study. All programs at UCQ are offered in English only. The purpose of the Nursing Foundation program is to help you upgrade your English or science skills in order to succeed in the UCQ nursing program of your choice.

The Nursing Foundation program is split between two streams:

The Program

The Nursing Foundation (BNRT) program is designed for students who:

  • Did not complete one or more of biology (advanced), chemistry (advanced or foundation), or math (advanced or foundation) in Grade 12;
  • Did not achieve a grade of 65% or better in biology (advanced), chemistry (advanced or foundation), or math (advanced or foundation) in Grade 12;
  • Does not meet the English language proficiency requirements.

Students accepted into Nursing Foundation (BNRT) will move directly into the Bachelor of Nursing, Regular Track (BNRT) program upon successful completion of their nursing foundation courses.

The Program

The Nursing Foundation (PDBN) program is designed for students who do not meet the English proficiency requirements for direct admission into the PDBN program.

Students accepted into Nursing Foundation (PDBN) will move directly into the Post-Diploma Bachelor of Nursing (PDBN) program upon successful completion of their foundation courses.

Math C Must repeat the course taken

Students should complete the Nursing Foundation Program within four semesters. Failure to successfully complete the program in four semesters may result in being required to withdraw from the Nursing Foundation Program.

F 0.00 Fail – course must be repeated
