Dr. Mohamoud Adam, EdD

Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning), Senior Instructor

Dr. Mohamoud Adam joined the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) in 2011 as an instructor in the Foundations Program. He was promoted to Director of the Foundations Program in 2014 and then Director of Academic Development and Support in 2016. In 2018, Dr. Adam was appointed to the position of Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning. In this role, he provides strategic leadership for three departments: The Centre for Teaching and Learning, the Learning Commons, and the Nursing Foundations Program. He has played a pivotal role in developing UCQ’s performance measurements, strategic planning, and institutional effectiveness. Within UCQ, he has served as chair and member of numerous committees and working groups focused on academic program oversight, student engagement and experience, curriculum development, teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and continuing professional development. External to UCQ, Mohamoud  has sat on advisory groups at the ministerial level and has delivered and facilitated training sessions and retreats across the GCC. His research interests lie in student engagement, student experience, first-year experience and transition, and educational leadership.
