Dina Schnurman RN, BA, MSN/MBA

Director Quality Improvement & Patient Safety:

A nurse with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and dedication to quality and safety, improving clinical outcomes,  clinical practice, and nursing education. With a focused background in pediatric oncology, bone marrow transplant, and clinical research.

Dina joined Sidra Medicine in 2014. During her time at Sidra Medicine, Dina has continually contributed to the Quality and Patient Safety agenda.

Dina has extensive experience designing, developing and implementing evidence-based, organization-wide systems to drive assessment, improvement and evaluation. She has been instrumental in implementing performance and process improvement in healthcare settings in the United States and the Middle East and in applying change management principles, tools, and techniques at multiple levels throughout her career. Specific projects she has been heavily involved in include standardization of care processes, decreasing time to antibiotic administration, health literacy, and numerous projects related to the management of central lines and CLABSI.

Dina has worked collaboratively with agencies across Qatar and internationally. She collaborates with the Quality Team at the Ministry of Health (Qatar), Hamad Medical Corporation and, most recently, with the risk management team from Qatar Airways. She also serves at the National level in Qatar on developing strategies and initiatives, including patient safety and the healthcare workforce.

Dina is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Calgary Qatar and is an active member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality and works as an improvement advisor on multiple projects.

She holds a BA from Rutgers College, a BSN from Old Dominion University in Virginia, a MSN/MBA from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, and is currently completing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Health Systems Executive Leadership at the University of Pittsburgh.
